• Antimicrobial – the sesquiterpenes in Myrrh interact with bacterial cell envelopes which leads to the disruption of cell membranes and subsequently, bacteriolysis.¹⁹ Peppermint oil may also inhibit the formation of microbial biofilms via damaging microbial cytoplasmic membranes.²⁰
